Both sides end negotiations for Worcester slot parlor

Posted: Updated:

WORCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The city of Worcester and Mass Gaming & Entertainment said they're ending negotiations that would bring a slot parlor to the city.

Both sides said that it recently became clear that a mutually satisfactory host community agreement could not be reached.

At an April public hearing many community members and business owners said they opposed the proposed $240 million parlor at the vacant 14-acre Wyman-Gordon industrial property.

Advocates said the slot parlor would bring 600 jobs and millions in tax revenue to the area.
