Officer, Good Samaritan rescue wheelchair-bound man from fire

Posted: Updated:

SALEM, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Fierce flames and thick smoke didn't stop a New Hampshire police officer and a Good Samaritan from rushing into a fire on Ackerman Street in Salem and rescuing a man in a wheelchair.

Salem Police Officer Connor Nolan and Nick Alsup ran into the burning building Tuesday morning. They began banging on the door and a woman inside said her husband was upstairs and couldn't walk.

Officer Nolan and Alsup raced in and grabbed the man from his wheelchair and carried him outside.

The husband and wife were taken to an area hospital. They are in stable condition.

The fire remains under investigation.
