Duxbury school officials investigate allegations of 'sexting' among eighth graders

Posted: Updated:

DUXBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Duxbury school district is investigating reports of eighth grade students sending each other inappropriate text messages.

Superintendent Benedict Tantillo confirms that the district is investigating the allegations that were brought to his attention last Friday.

Tantillo says an investigation at Duxbury Middle School is ongoing and it is unclear how many students were involved. He adds that if the allegations turn out to be true, the school will take action and notify police.

There is no word on what punishment the students could face. The investigation is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
