Marion police search for bank robber who lost money during struggle

MARION, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Marion police are looking for a bank robber who lost the majority of the money he stole when a customer tried to stop him.

Police say the incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. on May 31 at the Pilgrim Bank on 350 Front Street. The suspect entered the bank and passed a note to the teller which demanded money.

When the suspect tried to leave the bank, a customer tried to stop him. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled on foot in the direction of Spring Street and Route 6.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 5'10" and 6' tall, with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a gray t-shirt with a red "American Eagle" logo on it, blue jeans, and a green and white Boston Celtics hat. The suspect was also wearing a white gauze bandage around his head.
