BOSTON (AP) - Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Gabriel Gomez has released a new television ad, a day after his first debate with Democratic rival Edward Markey.
The ad features images of Gomez on the campaign trail and speaking to supporters following his Republican primary win.
A narrator introduces Gomez as an aircraft carrier pilot, Navy SEAL and graduate of Harvard Business School. Gomez is then seen telling supporters that if they are looking for a "rigid partisan" or a "slick-talking politician" he's not their candidate.
In the ad, Gomez also says that the election is about the future, not the past.
The 30-second spot is paid for by the Massachusetts Republican Party.
The special election is set for June 25 to fill the Senate seat left vacant by the resignation of John Kerry.
