Familiar group leads Bruins to another Stanley Cup final

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Bruins are headed for the Stanley Cup finals with virtually the same team that won the championship two years ago.

Sixteen of the 20 players in uniform for Friday night's 1-0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins that clinched a sweep also played in the 2011 finals against the Vancouver Canucks. And Claude Julien is still the coach.

General manager Peter Chiarelli says this year's success reinforces his decision to keep the team together. He says players know more about what to expect in the next round than they did in their last trip to the finals.

The Bruins could find out Saturday night who they'll be playing. The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Western Conference finals over the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 and need a win to advance.
