Mark Kerrigan, brother of Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, sentenced to probation

Posted: Updated:

WOBURN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The brother of Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was back in front of a judge Monday.

Mark Kerrigan was sentenced to probation in Woburn. He was arrested Friday night at the home of his mother, Brenda. The two had allegedly been fighting and the police were called two times. During the second visit, police say a drunk Kerrigan ran from them and resisted arrest.

Kerrigan is not allowed to drink alcohol while on his probation and must attend alcoholics anonymous meetings. He is also not allowed to verbally or physically abuse his legally blind mother. Kerrigan has been living with her since being released from jail last July.

Kerrigan was sentenced to 2-and-a-half years after an alcohol-fueled fight with his father back in 2010. The fight caused his father to go into heart failure.
