How To Help Victims, Families Affected By Santa Monica Shooting

The Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services Center is offering up a 24-hour crisis line for those in Los Angeles and Orange County who may have been affected by the recent shootings in Santa Monica.  If you'd like to use their services, please call 877-7-CRISIS, which is 877-727-4747.

The Santa Monica College Foundation has established memorial funds honoring victims of the Friday shooting:

Donations can be made to The Carlos Franco Family Memorial Fund and to The Margarita Gomez Family Memorial Fund online at http://foundation.smc.edu

CalState Dominguez Hills, where 26-year-old Marcela Franco was a senior seeking a degree in psychology, has also set up a memorial for her.

Donations to the Marcela Franco Memorial will be collected by the university and given to the family to aid them in their time of need.

    Two Kentucky firefighters were seriously injured helping a college band perform an ice bucket challenge stunt. The bucket of the fire truck apparently touched power lines outside of the football stadium at Campbellsville University.  wo Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Department firefighters were taken to the hospital after the incident.
