Trace Adkins: I Don't Kiss The Ring Like A Lot Of People Do

Posted: Updated:

Who knew Trace Adkins was such a softy? The big guy talked to Tony and Maria about how he came to record an album filled with love songs because the project didn't start out that way! "Love Will..." was not by design but Trace says he's happy with the result.

Speaking of happy, the seemingly gruff singer is all smiles when talking about being able to raise money for the Red Cross on Celebrity Apprentice and gives Maria a hint as to how he won: he didn't "kiss the ring".

Fun facts about Trace:

  • He made his debut in 1995 with the album Dreamin' Out Loud, released on Capitol Records Nashville.
  • Adkins has released seven more studio albums and two Greatest Hits compilations. In addition, he has charted more than 20 singles on the Billboard country music charts, including the Number One hits "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing", "Ladies Love Country Boys", and "You're Gonna Miss This", which peaked in 1997, 2007, and 2008, respectively.
  • He has also made several appearances on television, including as a panelist on the game shows Hollywood Squares and Pyramid, as a 2008 finalist and as the 2013 winner on The Celebrity Apprentice, as the voice for recurring character Elvin on King of the Hill, and in television commercial voice-overs for the KFC fast food restaurant chain.

Born and raised in Liverpool, signed by an inexperienced agent named Brian Epstein, hustled into the studio with a genius producer named George Martin...and out of that session came a hit song called "Do You Want To Know A Secret." Now here's the twist…we're not talking about The Beatles.
