On this edition, Amy Lange fills in for Taryn, who's celebrating her birthday and an Emmy win. 

After E.M. Kevyn Orr presented his plan to restructure Detroit's debt, critics complained he's balancing the city's books on the backs of retirees.  Political consultant Greg Bowens is one of them.  He squares off against former city councilwoman Sheila Cockrel.  She says Orr's plan will work because there's really no other choice besides bankruptcy.

Next, a Detroit success story playing out right now in the old Bell Building.  That's where the 100 year old property has been transformed from a dilapidated shell to a modern residential and treatment facility, providing homes to nearly 150 people who would otherwise be on the streets.  It's a project headed up by Detroit's Neighborhood Service Organization.  Joe Heaphy from the NSO and two residents from the facility, Alexis Porter and Aaron Foster, join us to talk about the great things happening there.
