Body of semi-pro athlete found near Pats' Hernandez's home

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Friends and family were in and out of a Dorchester home mourning the loss of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, the alleged victim at the center of a death investigation in North Attleboro involving Patriots' TE Aaron Hernandez.

Ursula Ward says police told her the body found less than one mile from Hernandez's home was that of her 27-year-old son Odin Lloyd.

Lloyd's uncle told FOX 25's Crystal Haynes that his nephew was a "great person."

According to a FOX News analyst, Lloyd dated the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend. When FOX 25 asked a family friend about that connection to Hernandez, she responded "no comment."

Lloyd was a linebacker for the Boston Bandits, and was also a graduate of the John O'Bryant High School in Boston. Lloyd's coach Olivier Bustin says he saw him just last Saturday.

Coach Bustin says Lloyd didn't start but played a big role on defense. He says Lloyd was a personable guy who was well-liked by the team. He says he never knew him to be in trouble and that Lloyd seemed fine at their scrimmage at the Madison High School field last weekend.

Police have been at Hernandez's home in North Attleboro for two days. Sports Illustrated cited an unidentified source in reporting that Hernandez was not believed to be a suspect in a possible homicide.

Hernandez's attorney says his client is not commenting for now.

A check of Lloyd's criminal record showed two arrests in 2008 and 2010; however, both were dismissed.
