Quincy teen calls 911, hides after men break into home

QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Quincy teen hid inside her closet as two men broke into her grandmother's home and went through her belongings Thursday.

Shayna Boyle was home alone on Thursday afternoon when she saw two men trying to break into her Brook Road residence.

The girl went to a bedroom closet and called for help. She couldn't hold back tears as she listened to the 911 call 24 hours later. The teen says spotting them was scary enough, but hearing the men open the bulkhead door and walk up the stairs was terrifying.

"One of the first things I said was where i was so once they were upstairs I didn't have to talk," Shayna explained of her phone conversation with dispatchers.

Shayna turned down the volume on her phone and watched as the men rifled through her drawers just feet away from the closet she was hiding in. The burglars did not know she was there.

Police arrived just in time to arrest the burglars as they exited the home through a glass door that was forced open.

Investigators claim the men, identified as 29-year-old John Naumann and 51-year-old Steven Cryer, both of Quincy, were in possession of 60 pieces of jewelry stolen from the Shayna's house. One of the men reportedly had a knife.

Both men were arraigned in Quincy District Court Friday on breaking and entering charges. They were held on $15,000 cash bail.
