Four injured, including mother and baby, in Westminster crash

WESTMINSTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A mother and her 1-year-old child were taken to an area hospital Tuesday following a two-car crash on South Street in Westminster.

According to police, the crash occurred in the area of 95 South St. at about 11 a.m. Following the initial collision, one of the cars landed on its roof and the other landed in a ditch.

The car that landed on its roof contained a woman and her baby, and the other car that landed in the ditch contained two occupants who appeared to be in their late teens or early 20s.

The baby appeared uninjured, and the woman complained of minor injuries. Both were taken to Haywood Hospital.

The female occupant of the other car was outside when the fire department arrived. She was taken to UMass University Medical Hospital with minor injuries. The other occupant, a male, had to be cut out of the car and was taken via medical helicopter to UMass University Medical Hospital in critical condition.

The crash is under investigation.
