1 Dead, 1 Critical After Shootings Hours Apart On Same Street

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Police are investigating two separate shootings on the same street just hours apart.

Police were called to the 3000 block of Germantown Avenue in North Philadelphia just after midnight.

That's where they found a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest. He's currently in critical condition.

Just a few hours before that, at around 9 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot twice in the head at point-blank range. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police do not know if the two shootings are related.

Investigators say they aren't sure if the 38-year-old victim was laying flowers or stuffed animals where the 19-year-old was shot just hours before.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley has more details in the above video report from Thursday morning outside Philadelphia Police Headquarters.
