Weekend Watch: June 28-30, 2013

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and there are events this weekend celebrating freedom and fireworks.

You can see Puddle of Mudd, Cake, Collective Soul, Randy Travis and Kool and the Gang at the Stars and Stripes Festival this weekend at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights. There will be four different stages and more than 100 performances. A big fireworks show is also planned for Sunday night, and it's all free.

It's up, up and away at the annual Michigan Challenge Balloonfest all weekend long at the Howell High School Complex on Grand River.

There will be plenty of fun and games in Livonia this weekend at the Spree 63. The celebration wraps up Sunday night with a fireworks show.

Country-rock crooner Darius Rucker hits the stage at DTE Energy Music Theatre Sunday night. Opening acts include Rodney Atkins and Detroit native Jana Kramer.

Different generations know him for different things, but all can agree Bill Cosby is one funny man. He is performing at Orchestra Hall in Detroit on Saturday night.

Classic car owners and car buffs are gearing up for the 14th Annual Cruisin' Downriver event on Saturday. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to line Fort Street as cars cruise through Lincoln Park, Southgate and Wyandotte.
