NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Hundreds of people from the LGBT community were celebrating Saturday night after a groundbreaking decision by the Supreme Court.

The party continues Saturday night after a week members of the LGBT community say they will never forget and have plenty to celebrate Sunday when it all culminates with the Gay Pride Parade.

"For us it's been the realization of equality for us and our children."

"It's kind of a whole great atmosphere."

Saturday night's rapture on the river party, you see I heart NY stickers were everywhere -- part of a brand new LGBT tourism outreach initiative launched by Governor Cuomo.

A couple of ladies are visiting from Washington, D.C. and say they are all for it.

"We absolutely appreciate it."

The center point of the campaign is a special "I Love NY LGBT" website, spotlighting entertainment, historic landmarks and LGBT resources, plus a wedding planning guide for same sex couples who want to tie the knot here.

The Flaming Saddles Saloon in Hell's Kitchen is one of the LGBT businesses featured on the new site.

"It really signifies that this is a community that brings in revenue taht should be addressed and should be treated with the dignity it deserves," said Chris Barnes, Flaming Saddles owner.

While the Flaming Saddles line dancers were practicing their moves for the big parade, downtown streets were already being blocked off in preparation and back at Pier 26, the crowds were also gearing up for Sunday.

"It's just a giant celebration -- getting together,"

"I think there is going be a lot of cheering and people thinking we finally have it."

The Gay Pride Parade kicks off in Midtown at noon and the week wraps up back at Pier 26 with a live concert by Cher.
