(MyFoxBoston.com) – A sick Rhode Island boy has lost his beloved toy and his mom has turned to Facebook to try and find it. She says the stuffed monkey has been by her 2 1/2-year-old's side through some tough times.

The two best friends have been broken up, but the mother of that little boy is determined to reunite them.

Kayden Watson's buddy is "Monkey." According to The Sun Chronicle, the part blanket, part stuffed animal has been a source of comfort through a series of operations meant to correct an intestinal disorder. But the other day, the family stopped for ice cream at the Dairy Queen in North Attleborough, and they haven't seen Monkey since.

The family told the paper went back to the area around Route 1 with flashlights when they discovered it was missing, but had no luck.

Mom, Jennifer, tried to give him a new one, but Kayden just says he wants his friend back.

The family is trying to get the word out through a Facebook page they've set up called Kayden's Korner. They explain his medical condition, and say he'll soon need another surgery.

In the meantime, they're hoping to locate Monkey. If you saw him or can help, give us a shout.
