Again-la: B's ink Jarome Iginla to one-year deal

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Jarome Iginla will don Bruins black and gold in the upcoming NHL season.

The free agent forward signed a one-year, $6 million contract with the Bruins Friday. Iginla's base salary is $1.8 million with $4.2 million worth of incentives.

The signing comes after the future Hall-of-Famer said no to the Bruins at the trade deadline, opting instead to play with the Penguins.

Iginla, who was drafted by the Dallas Stars in 1995, played the majority of his career for the Calgary Flames before being traded to Pittsburgh, who were knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Bruins.

The 36-year-old joins the Bruins with an impressive resume, having scored more than 30 goals in 11 consecutive seasons entering this past season. He has also scored 50 goals in a single season twice.  He has 530 career goals, two gold medals as part of Team Canada at the Olympics, and helped lead the Flames to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2004.

The Iginla deal brings a close to a busy week for the team.

Earlier in the week, the Bruins agreed to a blockbuster trade with the Stars that sent Tyler Seguin to Dallas for fellow forward Loui Eriksson as part of a seven-player trade.
