EPSOM, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A New Hampshire teen was killed in a crash that occurred on New Rye Road in Epsom early Sunday morning.

An Epsom police officer first noticed 18-year-old Allen Field's car behind the Epsom Central School located on Black Hall Road at about 1 a.m. and turned around in order to further investigate.

However, when Field saw the officer's cruiser, he allegedly took off at a high rate of speed on Black Hall Road towards New Rye Road.

According to police, the officer decided not to pursue Field because he was traveling at such a high rate of speed.

A short time later, the officer found Field's car off the roadway and on its roof after hitting a tree. Field was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact N.H. State Police at 603-223-4381.
