NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Suffolk County police say woman was killed and her husband was injured after their SUV crashed into a parked pickup truck on the shoulder of the Long Island Expressway early Sunday morning.

According to police, 33-year-old Matthew Polashek of Ridgewood, Queens was driving a GMC Yukon westbound on the LIE between Exit 61 and Exit 62 on the Holbrook-Ronkonkoma border at 4:30 a.m. The SUV then veered onto the right shoulder and struck a Dodge pickup truck that was parked on the shoulder.

Polashek's wife, Stacie, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. Matthew Polashek was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No criminal charges were filed and police are investigating what caused the couple's SUV to swerve and hit the disabled truck.
