Women Held Captive In Cleveland Speak Out

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND -

For the very first time, we are hearing directly from the women who were kidnapped and held in a house of horrors in Cleveland for nearly a decade.

In a YouTube video, Amanda Berry, Gina Dejesus and Michelle Knight publicly thank the people who have offered support to them.

"It's been unbelievable. I want to  thank everyone who has helped me and my family through this entire ordeal," Berry said.

Berry has a 6-year-old daughter with the accused kidnapper, Ariel Castro.

We also heard from Michelle Knight.

"I just want everyone to know I'm doing  just fine," Knight said. "I may have been through hell and back but I am strong enough to  walk through hell with a smile on my face and with my head held high and my feet firmly on the ground."

Castro has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him, which include kidnapping and rape.

If convicted, he could face the death penalty.
