'Sharknado' Sets Twitter On Fire - Enough Said!

Posted: Updated:

A sci-fi movie on the Syfy channel starring American Pie's Tara Reid and 90210's Ian Ziering was a big talker on Twitter last night.

It's called Sharknado.

The concept: Thousands of sharks are sucked out of the ocean by a powerful twister and then they are dropped onto the streets of Los Angeles.

The two stars use their acting chops - and a chainsaw - to cut the sharks down to size.     Some of the more laughable lines are delivered by Ziering, who at one point says "We can't just stand here and wait for sharks to fall out of the sky."

Sharknado almost immediately began trending on twitter.     A lot of celebs weighing in at #sharknado.

Sports reporter Erin Andrews posted this: "Sharknado question -- the residuals from 90210 and Home Alone have to be good. How is this happening?

Actor Michael Chiklis: "Clearly syfy is employing the old, "so bad, it's good," method with tremendous effect."
