BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Brockton said they made two cocaine busts in a matter of days.

The first happened on Friday, July 12 at about 3:45 p.m. A Massachusetts State Trooper pulled a pickup truck over for a motor vehicle violation. The trooper said the driver of the vehicle, 49-year-old Wilson Lara, of Dorchester, couldn't answer some of his basic questions.

During a search of the vehicle the trooper said he found a hidden compartment. A police dog was then called to the scene. Police said the dog located $12,000 and six bags of cocaine.

Lara was arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine.

Just four days later state police said they pulled a van over on North Main Street. The trooper said he noticed several screws missing from the van as well as the "overwhelming presence of air fresheners."

Again, a police dog was called to the scene. Troopers said the dog found a hidden compartment in a seat that contained 66 grams of heroin and 2.5 grams of cocaine.

The driver of the van, 38-year-old Carlor Rodriguez, of Lawrence, was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin and possession of cocaine.
