Officer injured in shootout with bombing suspects hosts blood drive

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – The MBTA Transit Officer injured in a shootout with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects has teamed up with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive in Boston Thursday.

Transit Officer Richard Donohue and the Red Cross have joined forces to host a blood drive at the Marriott-Copley Hotel in Boston that will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donohue, 33, is now home after spending about a month recovering at Spaulding Rehab. He still has a bullet in his body and is coping with nerve damage that can make it painful to walk, but says he will return to work as soon as he is able.
