Coyote Sightings Being Reported In The Suburbs

Posted: Updated:
WHITEMARSH, Pa. -

If you live in the Lafayette Hill section of Whitemarsh Township, you should keep your pets indoors. And it's not because of the heat.

It's because a man who lives near Dawnwood and Manor roads spotted coyotes on his property!

Dr. Dave Schaffer loves animals and photography, so he grabbed his camera as soon as he spotted them.

He's seen them three times this summer and assumes they're here to hunt.

"It's a very big year for rabbits, we used to have fox and I suspect we haven't seen them because of the coyotes," Schaffer said. "I'm not concerned about one or two, but I've been told that if you see a pack, don't argue with them."

Schaffer has reported his findings to the local police.

FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson has more details in this video report.
