Little League coach arrested in Boston child porn case

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Little League coach from Boston was arraigned on child porn charges in Boston Municipal Court Friday.

Andrew McKinnon, 45, is charged with possession of child pornography.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office says McKinnon's arrest is the result of an investigation into peer-to-peer file sharing programs involving the distribution of graphic videos depicting child pornography. Investigators allege subscriber information for the file sharing program led them to McKinnon's Union Park apartment.

Investigators executed a search warrant at McKinnon's apartment on Thursday night. McKinnon was at work while the search warrant was executed.

During the search, investigators claim they found computer files containing child pornography that was downloaded two days earlier. They claim McKinnon indicated to police that the folder in which the images were stored was used only by him.

McKinnon volunteered as a Little League coach in the past, but the district attorney's office notes he is not accused of any offenses involving contact with players or any other children. The district attorney did not say what league McKinnon coached in.

The 45-year-old was held on $150,000 bail and ordered to wear a GPS monitor, have no contact with children under 16, and stay away from schools.
