Liz Habib: The Lakers Were Clearing All The Room

Posted: Updated:

(FOX 11 / FOX Sports) Guard Jordan Farmar has returned to the team he started his NBA career with - the Los Angeles Lakers. Farmar signed with the Lakers on Wednesday.

"Jordan was a fan favorite and a key contributor to our championship teams in 2009 and 2010," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said. "We're pleased to have him back with the Lakers and look forward to him once again making a positive impact on our team."

A first-round draft pick of the Lakers in 2006, Farmar spent his first four seasons with Los Angeles and helped the team to three straight NBA Finals appearances. He averaged 6.9 points and 2.1 assists over 301 games during his first stint with the Lakers.

The 26-year-old Farmar then signed with the Nets during the summer of 2010 and played two seasons for the team. He was traded in the summer of 2012 to Atlanta, but was waived by the Hawks only five days after the transaction.

He played in Turkey for the entire 2012-13 season. In 29 Euroleague games, he averaged 13.8 points on 39.7 percent shooting from 3-point range. He added 13.7 points in 22 Turkish league contests.

A Los Angeles native, Farmar has averaged 7.7 points during his NBA career.
