Family and friends gathered Friday in memory of 20-year-old Brenna Machus and 20-year-old Joseph Orlando.

Orlando, a clerk at the Family Dollar in Dearborn, was shot and killed.

Machus, a manager at the Family Dollar, was abducted from the store. Her body was found Thursday. She had been shot once in the head.

Her brother, Ryan, said the family is crushed, but his spirit was lifted seeing the turnout at the vigil at Bishop Park along the Detroit River in Wyandotte.

"She was an amazing girl. She was such a hard worker. She was just getting ready to go back to school to be a crime scene investigator, and she just got her first house. Words can't explain what she was," he said.

"She saw my daughter born. She was in the delivery room. She did so much for me. I did so much for her. She was like my other half," said Jennifer Forte.

On Friday, police arrested a man on unrelated charges, but they are interviewing him regarding the double murder.

Meanwhile, at the vigil there were candles, prayers and the hope for justice.
