Search of Harvard e-mails called good faith move

Posted: Updated:

(MyFoxBoston.com) – The cheating scandal that rocked the campus of Harvard University resulted in the school searching faculty e-mails, something that attorneys now say was legal.

The Boston Globe reports that outside counsel hired to investigate the searches of the e-mail said everything was done in good faith.

The searches were done as part of the school's investigation into how a massive cheating scandal was leaked to the media. The investigation also found no wrongdoing by any administrator at Harvard.

About 125 undergraduates were accused of cheating in a take-home exam.

Dozens of students were forced to temporarily withdraw from the school.
