WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Relatives and witnesses to a fatal shooting in Worcester last weekend say the victim was gunned down in front of his two young sons shortly after intervening in a fight at a nearby ball field.
Police say a man was shot at about 9 p.m. Sunday and was taken to a hospital where he died.
Police did not release the victim's name, but relatives told The Telegram & Gazette (<http://bit.ly/18AC5OS>) that he is 28-year-old Igor Busanet.
Detectives say they are investigating whether the shooting was connected to a large fight earlier at a nearby baseball field. A witness said the victim had asked those involved in the fight to stop because there were children around.
Police are asking witnesses to contact them.
