CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -

11:25 PM UPDATE: Authorities are questioning a possible person of interest in the shooting death of 13-year-old Steven Galindo Diaz. Stay with myfoxatlanta.com and be sure to watch "Good Day Atlanta" beginning at 4:30 a.m. for the latest updates!

Police continue to search for the two men responsible for killing a Clayton County teen right in front of his family's home.

The search for the killers of 13-year-old Steven Galindo Diaz continues as neighbors show their support for the boy's family.

Steven's sister, Samaria Diaz, said that she witnessed the shooting that occurred after two men held them up to steal their truck. The teen boy was shot and killed when the vehicle wouldn't start.

"The last time I saw him was when we were outside and when he got shot and he was in my arms. That's the last time I saw him," said Samaria.

Jose Diaz, Steven's brother, rushed outside after the shooting.

"I saw smoke, but I thought it was the engine, but then once I heard my little brother say, ‘I got shot.' I looked at him and I saw blood and then I saw a car take off," said Jose Diaz.

Two days after the murder, police continued to search for suspects and people continue to offer prayers and donations to the family.

"It means the world to me, to know that they're showing so much support and love for my family and myself and my little brother," said Samaria Diaz.

High school classmates of Steven's older brother helped raise money to go toward the boy's burial expenses.

"It's sad that somebody had to lose their life over 5 bucks, a piece of jewelry and a car that wouldn't start.  Nobody deserves to lose their life, nobody," said Abagail Dixon.

Steven's mother, Norma Diaz, said she is thankful for all of the support and prayers the family received since Monday's shooting. Other members of the family said they share the appreciation as they try to deal with this loss.

"I'm just glad that a lot of people loved my brother and they come down here to support him like this," Jose Diaz.

The search for the killers is uniting the community. A vigil started Tuesday afternoon, went into the early morning hours and then began again around noon on Wednesday.

Steven's football team, the Babb Middle School Bulldogs, say they'll dedicate the season to him.

Several items, including the slain boy's football uniform, flowers, candles and teddy bears have been placed at the spot where he was killed.

The teen's murder has garnered international headlines. The boy's mother, Norma Diaz, said that she wants attention and prayers to continue until the killers are caught.

A viewing for Steven Diaz will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Atlanta Mortuary Service in Atlanta on Dogwood Road.

The funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Mission San Felipe De Jesus, located at 925 Conley Road in Forest Park.

The only description the authorities have of the suspects is two Hispanic men who drove off in a red-colored SUV.
