It was a picture perfect day for Eagles fans. The music was blaring, the weather was ideal and the birds rolled out the green welcome mat for their fan base. Who couldn't enjoy a day like this watching your favorite team practice at the Linc?

"Way more convenient, I would have never went out to Lehigh," Eagles fan Mark Edwards told Fox 29.

"They did a great job trying to connect with the fans and give back to the community. I really appreciate it," Antoine Thomas said.

"I came because I want to see the battle of the quarterbacks. See who gets named the starter," David Mika from Nazareth said.

Nobody had more fun than Taylor Christian. She got to celebrate her 9th birthday at Eagles practice with her friends. She got a sharp-looking Michael Vick tattoo on her leg for free.

"He's my favorite," she said.

Thousands of fans streamed into the Linc and took their seats to watch the Eagles' workout, from the kickers to the quarterbacks. Members of the military lined the sidelines and got an up close welcome from Coach Chip Kelly and the players.

"I'm really excite to be here. And after the practice I get to go down on the field and get autographs from the players," said Joey Mika from Nazareth.

The big crowd navigated through some new security measures at Lincoln Financial Field. Clear plastic bags are the new twist this season.

"People come here to forget about life for a while. When you're gonna forget about life for a while, we want to make sure its the safest environment it can be," said Eagles V.P. for Event Operations Leonard Bonacci.

"It's fine, I have no problem with it," one fan told Fox 29

"Anytime you present somebody with 70,000 people, that's a target of opportunity, and you really don't want no shenanigans going on, so I'm alright with it," Thomas added.

One player not at practice again today was wide receiver Riley Cooper. He's on leave from the team after his controversial and ill-advised racial slur that was caught on tape. Most fans seemed forgiving, but several said it may be time for Cooper to go.

"I loved Riley Cooper. My love is dimming," says a fan.

"If Jeremy Macklin wasn't hurt, he probably wouldn't be on the team," remarks another fan.
