SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Swampscott police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of robbing The Gap on Paradise Road at gunpoint.

Investigators say a man entered the store at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money from the register. He then reportedly displayed a firearm that was tucked beneath his waistband before fleeing the store in the direction of the mall parking lot.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned man, approximately 5'10" tall, weighing about 180 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a tan cap, red and black checkered long sleeved shirt, with a light colored t-shirt underneath. He was also wearing sneakers and white socks.

Anyone with information is asked to call Swampscott police.
