ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) - A North Attleborough man was sentenced to two years in jail for stealing a neighbor's gun collection Monday.
Joseph Miller was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to breaking and entering and larceny. He was given credit for the 10 months he has spent in jail since his arrest.
Prosecutors say the 30-year-old Miller broke into his neighbor's garage and stole a collection of mostly antique guns from a locked cabinet. The weapons, including a 16-gauge shotgun, a .22-caliber rifle and a .22-caliber pistol, were recovered in his apartment. Some of the weapons were rusted and did not work.
The neighbor had shown Miller the collection a few weeks earlier.
The Sun Chronicle reports that Miller's lawyer says his client hopes to get parole and return to work.
