BOXBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- West Nile virus has been found in a mosquito pool collected in Boxborough.
The Mass. Department of Public Health announced the discovery Thursday. They did not say what part of Boxborough the pool was collected from or when it was collected.
The department also announced two more mosquito pools tested positive for the virus this week in Boston. Those pools were collected in Roslindale and West Roxbury. Earlier this month, mosquito pools tested positive in Jamaica Plain and Hyde Park.
Mosquito pools have already tested positive for West Nile virus in dozens of other Mass. communities.
West Nile can affect people of all ages, but those over the age of 50 are at a higher risk for a more severe reaction to the virus.
