DETROIT (WJBK) -

An armed robbery in the City of Dearborn sent police on a wild chase Friday after a silver Dodge Caravan.

"He hit a couple of cars and jumped the curb," said witness Ann Stephens. "The police [were] on their trail. He was on two wheels."

From Joy Road, they hung a right on Lauder on Detroit's west side.

"Hit the corner and the tire fell off, and once the tire fell off, he swerved into this driveway and hit that house there," said witness Jazmine Pruitt.

She said two men then jumped out of the minivan.

"One of them hit the fence," Pruitt said. "When he jumped the fence, he started shooting at the police."

Sources said police may have opened fire, as well.

In no time, the suspects were caught, cuffed and a handgun was also recovered at the scene.

DPD said the suspects are not only believed to have robbed citizens in Dearborn, but they may have also victimized Detroiters.

"They've been jumping out robbing folks and just terrorizing the whole neighborhood around here, take whatever you have, your purse, your wallet, if you're young, you're old, you're a target," Stephens said.

Police in both Detroit and Dearborn are investigating and interviewing witnesses.
