Landscaper dies after coming into contact with power line

Posted: Updated:

HOLLISTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) – A landscaper trimming branches in Holliston has died after his chainsaw came into contact with electrical wires Tuesday morning.

Deputy Fire Chief James Moore and Police Chief John Moore said the 26-year-old man was working in a bucket truck for a commercial tree cutting company on Shaw Farm Road Tuesday morning when he was shocked. His name is not being released pending notification of family.

Moore said the man was in the burning bucket when firefighters arrived. Another worker used a truck to push the bucket away from the electrified line so rescuers could free the man.

The man suffered burns over 95-percent of his body. He was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The truck the other worker was in also caught fire, but was quickly extinguished.
