Beau Biden Returning To Area After 'Medical Procedure'

Posted: Updated:

Vice President Joe Biden says his son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, has had a successful medical procedure in Texas. Beau Biden was waiting for test results at a Texas medical facility.

Fox 29 has learned that emergency responders were called to Vice President Biden's Delaware home, where Beau was staying earlier this month.

According to dispatch logs, the call refers to someone possibly having a stroke.

Two weeks later, the 44-year-old reported feeling weak and disoriented during a family vacation in Indiana. He was first hospitalized in Chicago, then saw his doctor in Philadelphia, before traveling to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Biden tweeted a photo on Tuesday, saying that he had a fun night in Houston with his wife, and he thanked his followers for their well wishes. He tweeted that he will share an update on his condition when he has it.

The Justice Department issued a statement late this afternoon that read, in part, "The Attorney General will speak with the Chief Deputy Attorney General and State Prosecutor again tomorrow following his return to Wilmington."

The white house is striking an optimistic tone tonight, saying the procedure was a success. Biden will follow up with his local doctors in the coming weeks.
