TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — A new poll shows New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has lost some ground in his race for re-election, but he still tops Democrat Barbara Buono by 20 points.

The Monmouth University/Asbury Park Press Poll released Wednesday shows Christie's lead shrinking by 10 points since June.

Pollster Patrick Murray says the trend of Democrats coming home won't be enough for Buono to overtake Christie.

Christie is up 56-36 among likely voters.

The poll finds the governor remains untarnished by criticism over his appearance in Jersey shore tourism ads or talk about him considering a run for president in 2016.

The telephone survey of 777 voters was taken Aug. 15-18 with an error margin of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

For decades, making some quick cash was the main drive behind so many who took the ride down the parkway to Atlantic City. But with so much to choose from nowadays, it looks like Atlantic City is in a lot of trouble.
