Andrea Sneiderman asks for new trial

ATLANTA (AP) - Attorneys for a woman accused of lying to police investigating her husband's shooting death and the man who was convicted in the slaying have each filed motions for new trials.

Andrea Sneiderman was sentenced to five years in prison for lying to investigators about an affair with her former boss, Hemy Neuman, who was convicted of killing Sneiderman's husband. Neuman was also deemed mentally ill.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/12pVjBD ) Sneiderman's attorney Brian Steel filed a motion in Fulton County Superior Court saying the verdict against his client was contrary to evidence that was presented. Sneiderman was convicted of perjury and giving false statements.

Attorneys for Hemy Neuman plan to file a motion saying Neuman deserves a new trial since perjured testimony was used to convict him.
