OXFORD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A disabled Iraq war veteran is asking patrons of Big I's in Oxford to boycott the restaurant after the owner allegedly yelled profanities at him when he walked in with his service dog.
On Saturday morning, James Glaser, who suffers from PTSD, and his service dog "Jack" went to the Big I's located at 578 Main St. for something to eat; however, when they arrived, they were not welcomed warmly by the restaurant's cook and owner.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the owner kicked Glaser and his dog out of his restaurant even though the war veteran had his service dog's certification papers. Glaser then called police who attempted to explain to the owner that the dog was a certified service dog.
The owner then allegedly challenged the authenticity of the dog's service status and insisted Glaser and his dog not come back inside the restaurant.
No charges have been filed, but Glaser is filing an Americans with Disabilities Act complaint.
