Posted: Updated:

BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 57-year-old Brockton man is facing drunk driving charges for his alleged connection to a crash in the city's south side.

The Enterprise reports Antonio Delgado is charged with causing serious bodily injury while driving drunk in the Thursday night crash.

Investigators allege Delgado was driving in the area of Garcia Grocery and Tropical on Main Street at about 10 p.m. when the crash occurred.

Police believe a victim who was injured in the crash, Carlos Gomes, was a passenger in the car. They believe he got out of the car and Delgado backed up, crashing the car into the grocery store and hitting Gomes. Gomes was transported to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. His condition is unknown.

The Enterprise originally reported Gomes had died as a result of his injuries, but later corrected their story and said he is still alive.
