Wrong-way driver on I-85 north triggers four-vehicle crash

ATLANTA -

Amazingly, no one was hurt after a wrong-way driver heading south on northbound I-85, near Beaver Ruin, triggered a four-vehicle crash early Sunday, according to Gwinnett County police.

Officers say Alysha Harvin, of Jonesboro, caused the crash on I-85, near Pleasant Hill, before they caught up to and took her into custody. One vehicle flipped over several times, while the other three collided with each other.

Fire rescue did respond to the crash and provided medical assistance as necessary.

Police said Harvin had been driving on the wrong side of I-85 from at least mile marker 106 to near Beaver Ruin, police said.

She's now charged with DUI, hit and run, reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Harvin has been released to the custody of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department.
