(WJBK) -

First pitches in the U.S. are usually a fairly ho-hum event.

Not so in Japan. Case in point? What might be the creepiest ceremonial first pitch you'll ever see.

An actress playing Sadako, the freakish character from horror franchise The Ring, took the mound with three tiny versions of herself before a Japaense pro league game.

The actress then reportedly hurled a 64 mph pitch with her face obscured by waist-length hair.

It must have taken a lot of energy since she fell to the ground afterward and needed the help of a stretcher to get off the field.
