With such a diverse population, New York City is home to people working jobs of all kinds.

In the series, What Do You Do?, Good Day NY talks with hedge fund manager Harvey Eisen.

The Chairman, CEO and Director of Wright Investors' Service Holdings, Inc. says he "works his butt off" every day.

A hedge fund, as Eisen explains it, is "set up to manage money for what is defined as rich people or people who have more than $1 million to invest."

The Midwesterner got his start on Wall Street.

“The pinnacle of the game is hedge funds because that’s where you can make the most money but it’s also the most risk," said Eisen.

So what tips does the financial expert have for the average person looking to make the most of their money?

“Put money aside every month and put it into a mutual fund or an electronically traded fund…Invest it on a regular basis. If the market goes down, just leave it there. If the market goes up, sell some.”
