Patriots President Jonathan Kraft disputes Rolling Stone story

Posted: Updated:

(MyFoxBoston.com) – During a radio interview Thursday, New England Patriots President Jonathan Kraft said there were at least four things that were "factually inaccurate" in this week's explosive Rolling Stone article on former player and accused killer Aaron Hernandez.

The article claims Hernandez told coach Bill Belichick he feared for his life. It also said Belichick recommended his former player lay low and rent a second apartment as a safe house. That safe house is now believed to be Hernandez's apartment in Franklin.

Kraft said both of those claims are completely false. Kraft also said Belichick never threatened to cut Hernandez at the end of the 2013 season and the story was wrong about Hernandez skipping off-season workouts to be in California.

It's the first time the team has responded since the article was released.

"I do not anticipate anyone being available or commenting any further," Patriots spokesman Stacey James said.
