CARLOS' BLOG: My Day With Betty White:
I walked into the non-descript building in West Los Angeles with thoughts of what it would be like to spend a few minutes visiting with Betty White. Our team had assembled, lights set up, two cameras and a couple of comfy chairs to sit on. She didn't keep us waiting long and as she walked through the doors, she opened her arms to give me a hug, not a handshake, a hug! That's how it began, comfortable warm and soon funny. Betty White is an American icon who has been around my entire life. I watched her in TV shows, in movies and splashed all over magazines. As a kid growing up in San Diego, for me Betty White was the All American Gal. You can see her joy in her eyes and feel her warmth as she easily talks about being the "old broad" who is still around and we are all glad she is! At 92 she is remarkably active and still at the top of her game. During several exchanges with me she easily moved from subject to subject without missing a beat. She is elegantly beautiful in person with gorgeous eyes and devilish smile. My favorite moment is when I asked her, what love means to her and she answers, "Allen". Thanks to Betty and all her great team for taking time out of their very busy schedule to sit down and talk with us. Our viewers loved "Love, Betty White" and you know what? So do I… (gushing now!)
