WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Worcester man charged with hitting another teenager over the head with a bottle during a fight at a party, after which the victim died, has been held on $100,000 bail.

Police say 18-year-old Michael Ventura hit 18-year-old Robert Walker of Blackstone over the head during a fight at a city apartment complex early Sunday. Walker died later that day.

A not guilty plea was entered Tuesday on behalf of Ventura to a charge of aggravated assault and battery with dangerous weapon.

The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/15thhle ) reports that Walker was found with a head wound and had been stabbed in the buttocks.

One witness identified Ventura as the man who hit Walker in the head with a bottle, before chasing him into nearby woods. His lawyer had no comment.
