LOWELL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man they say robbed a gas station Sunday night in Lowell.

Surveillance images show the suspect entering Prime Gas on Mammoth Road, displaying a weapon to the clerk and demanding all the cash in the register, according to police. The clerk turned the money over.

The suspect, who is believed to be in his 20s, then fled toward 3rd Avenue on a yellow-pedal bicycle. Police said he was wearing jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is urged to call Lowell police through the department's non-emergency line at 978-937-3200. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 978-459-TIPS (8477), or send a text to 847411 with the phrase "LPDTip" followed by your tip.

Police also encourage the public to submit tips online anonymously by visiting www.citzenobserver.com. Select "community," then type "01852," and select Lowell Police Department and then "submit a tip." Anonymous tipsters could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Police remind residents that it is best to comply with the robber's demand for cash.
