EVERETT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A standoff between police and a barricaded suspect in Everett ended with the suspect's arrest Friday afternoon.

Everett High School and some middle schools were placed in "safe mode" after a reported incident on Calhoun Avenue Friday morning.

Video from SkyFox showed a number of police vehicles, including a tactical vehicle, in the area.

Everett police said that a person was barricaded inside of a home on Calhoun Ave. at Elm Street. FOX 25's Jessica Reyes tweeted that SWAT team members had broken down the door of the home. A short time later, they took a suspect into custody.

The owner of a nearby daycare told Reyes that she had heard four gunshots earlier Friday morning.

The schools were put in safe mode as a precaution. Police said they were not involved in the incident. There were no reported injuries.
